29 Lessons, Part 4: How to Create a Life You Truly Love

Defining Success

I used to think that a successful life was measured by a nice car, a large house, and all the “finer things” in life. However, I’ve come to a few realizations over the years. First of all, success means different things to different people; and secondly, for me, it means being able to live a life that fully aligns with my values and my vision. In my ideal life, I value freedom way more than... stuff.

Once you are able to define what success looks like to you, you can work on designing your own ideal life. Below, I'll share what has helped me.

Knowing Your “Why”

If your “why” is strong enough, it can keep you motivated when things get hard. I remember having to juggle cleaning offices overnight with starting my YouTube channel, all while trying to save up as much as I could. It wasn’t easy, but reminding myself that I was working towards financial independence so I could have a better future for my family helped me to push through.

Overcoming Fear

Anyone who knows me in person knows I’m the most introverted person, and so, starting a YouTube channel and putting myself out there was WAY outside of my comfort zone. But looking back, I'm so glad I dove head-first into it even when I was scared, because if I hadn't taken the leap, I wouldn't be where I am today. In fact, starting a channel actually helped me to grow into a better version of myself.

And thanks to YouTube, I now get to spend more time with my family and enjoy freedom - time freedom, location freedom, and financial freedom. If you have been thinking about starting or scaling your YouTube channel and want to surround yourself with a community of like-minded individuals, I’m actually going to be working with my first 2025 5-Hour YouTuber cohort in March. Gamifying Life

I’ve stopped playing the comparison game. The only person I’m competing against is who I was yesterday. It’s become a fun game to challenge myself to constantly level up. By not worrying about anyone else, my mental health has improved dramatically. I am able to focus more on being truly present in every moment and honestly, this just helps me to practice gratitude.

Hey Reader, For years, I cleaned office buildings every night. Not exactly glamorous. But during those long hours, I was fueling my ambition by listening to podcasts, books, and YouTube videos about money. I knew I needed to learn how to make it work for me so it would stop eluding me. Fast forward 5 years: I ended up being a guest on one of the podcasts that I had been listening to when I used to clean. What a surreal, full-circle moment. This whole experience made me realize something...

Read time: 1.5 min Hey Reader! Ever feel like your stuff is taking over your life? Yeah, me too. Did you know that we only use like 20% of our belongings 80% of the time?! It's wild! And of course, all that extra stuff just adds to the chaos. If you're craving a simpler, more chill vibe at home without having to toss everything you own, I've got some tips to share with you that have changed my life. These work even if you aren't about that minimalist life. Imagine: Walking into your home and...

Read time: 2 min ... Look, I get it. I've been exactly where you are right now. Staring at those view counts, wondering if all this effort is worth it. Maybe you're thinking "This just isn't working" or "I'm not cut out for this." I remember going through a 6-month stretch where every time I would post a video, I'd LOSE subscribers (see below). It made me not want to cut the camera on anymore. This was so discouraging, but I'm glad I hung in there! Let Me Share Something That Changed...
